John Podesta, the former Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton from 1998 to 2001, called the deregulation of derivatives that occurred under the Clinton Administration a “big mistake” that significantly worsened the 2008 financial crisis in an interview with David Shuster at the DNC on Tuesday.
News outlets around the country have taken issue with Mitt Romney’s charge that President Obama has gutted the welfare reform law enacted under President Bill Clinton. The Obama team, Clinton himself and even former Republican congressional staffers this week said Romney’s advertisement and comments on the issue were misleading or outright falsehoods.
